Enhancing Cloud Security with Blockchain-Based Identity Management

Abstract

Traditional identity management systems in cloud environments are prone to breaches and identity theft. This paper presents a blockchain-based identity management framework that leverages decentralized identity (DID) protocols to provide secure and tamper-resistant user authentication. The framework uses smart contracts to manage identity verification, access control, and credential issuance. Performance analysis shows that the blockchain-based solution reduces authentication latency and enhances security by eliminating single points of failure. The study concludes that blockchain-based identity management offers a scalable and secure solution for cloud environments, reducing the risk of identity-based attacks.
