Abstract

Smart cities leverage data analytics to improve urban infrastructure, optimize resource allocation, and enhance the quality of life for residents. This review paper investigates the applications of data analytics in smart city initiatives, including traffic management, energy consumption optimization, and waste management. It also explores the use of IoT sensors and geospatial analytics for real-time monitoring and decision-making. Challenges such as data privacy, interoperability, and scalability are discussed, along with future directions like the integration of AI and 5G networks for smarter urban ecosystems.
